About

Untitled design (30).png

Live Well Festival is a fundraising event hosted by fictional mental health charity LUNAR, which I developed as part of my dissertation project at university; a portfolio of professional writing for a specified professional outlet.

I decided that a mental health charity would be a beneficial platform to represent because I align with the values and goals of what LUNAR would be working towards. I chose a festival to be the fundraising event for which I would carry out my professional writing as it aligns with the target audience of the charity and is an event suitable for all ages and abilities.

My intention for the project was to establish LUNAR’s Live Well Festival on social media platforms and other marketing mediums towards a specified target audience. Through the use of social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter and YouTube), I developed a brand identity for the festival by creating visual copy and use language that is engaging and exciting to generate a following. I constructed a website and wrote copy which developed the professional tone of the charity and festival and showcased the benefits and key details that customers need to know. Additionally, I created multiple forms of media publications (press release, interview, review) to portray LUNAR and Live Well Festival from another writer’s perspective and outline the event details in a professional tone for media publication on a wider scale.  I intended for this portfolio to bring Live Well Festival to life through the creative writing materials I have produced, and the professional tone maintained across all platforms.

I designed the Instagram page for Live Well Festival in line with the brand's theme and maintained a positive and engaging tone across the various post styles. These creative decisions helped to create a sense of community and credibility for the event and developed an identity for Live Well Festival online.

I constructed the Twitter page for Live Well Festival as a platform to share time-sensitive updates with ticket holders, as well as promote the event through the use of short-form copy. Making use of additional features of the app including supporting images, retweets and QR code sharing helped to diversify the ways in which the target audience could engage with promotional copy.

YouTube

I produced a promotional video for Live Well Festival to be published as an advertisement on YouTube. I created this by utilising my video editing and writing skills to showcase the festival's features to the target audience and visually encapsulate what they could expect from the experience.

Website Copy

I designed the Live Well Festival website with the intention to showcase the spirit of the festival through the use of punchy and engaging headlines and relevant keywords for improved readability. The website served as the ideal platform for outlining specific details regarding the event and the compelling copy which I wrote created a sense of credibility and brand identity for Live Well Festival.

Media Publications

This is an interview with LUNAR's founder Nadia Daniels by mental health magazine Breathe, which outlines the intentions behind Live Well Festival and what to expect from the event.

This is a critic review of Live Well Festival which outlines the event as a whole and offers personal opinion on the experience.

This is a press release for LUNAR's Live Well Festival, issued by founder Nadia Daniels, which outlines the relevant information for media publications such The Daily Mail to use for advertising purposes.
